God’s truthfulness means that He is the one true God and that all that He says and has revealed about Himself and His creation is true, reliable, and trustworthy. God represents things as they really are. All that He says and does can be trusted.
Insights Into God’s Truthfulness
God is the sole source and standard for truth. There is no source or higher standard for truth than God Himself.
There is nothing that man can learn or discover through any kind of science or another field of learning that can prove God to be wrong in what He has revealed about Himself or His creation.
Jer. 10:10-11 -But the Lord is the true God; He is the living God and the everlasting King. At His wrath the earth quakes, And the nations cannot endure His indignation. Thus you shall say to them, The gods that did not make the heavens and the earth will perish from the earth and from under the heavens.
John 17:3 -This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus the Messiah whom You have sent.
Ps. 119:160 -The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.
Rom. 3:4 -May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar,...John 17:17 -Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.
Heb. 6:18 -so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us
Practical Applications Of God’s Truthfulness
That which He has told us in His Word can be completely relied upon.
God can and should be trusted and believed in more than any human being that we know.
