The Judgment of Israel

Updated: Feb 9, 2021

Day 13 of the 24 Day Prophecy Study

Notes compiled by Steve McAtee and Marty Zide

This Judgment is only for the Jewish people who survive the seven-year tribulation period. Because they are not saved when the rapture takes place, they will be left behind to enter the tribulation period. At the end of that period, they will be judged to see if they will be able to enter the millennium.

It is revealed in Rom. 9:6 that not all Israel is true Israel. The true Israel has to be separated from the false Israel. It is only the true Israel who enters the millennial kingdom.

Rom 9:6 - But it is not as though the word of God has failed. For they are not all Israel who are descended from Israel, nor are they all children because they are Abraham's descendants, but: THROUGH ISAAC YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL BE NAMED.

Gal 6:14-16 - But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus the Messiah, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God.

After the Jewish people are delivered from all of their persecutors, they will be gathered together and caused to pass under the rod of God’s judgment to see if they were saved during the tribulation period. All those who were saved during the tribulation period will be able to enter the millennium.

Ezek 20:34-38 - I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm and with wrath poured out; and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there I will enter into judgment with you face to face. As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so I will enter into judgment with you, declares the Lord GOD. I will make you pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant; and I will purge from you the rebels and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, but they will not enter the land of Israel. Thus you will know that I am the LORD.

A. Who Will Be Judged?

This Judgment is only for Jewish people who survived the seven-year tribulation period. They entered into the tribulation because they were not saved prior to the rapture.

Ezek 20:35-36 - ... I will enter into judgment with you face to face. As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt.

This is obviously referring to the Jewish people. What fathers was it that God entered into judgment within the wilderness of the land of Egypt? It was the Jewish people.

B. When Will They Be Judged?

The answer to this question is clearly given in Ezek. 20:38. This judgment takes place before they are allowed to come into the land. This would be prior to the establishment of the millennium.

Ezek. 20:38 - I will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, but they will not enter the land of Israel.

Entering the land of Israel after this judgment is a good thing. After this judgment, you want to be left, not taken. Those taken are cast into eternal fire. Notice, it is the exact opposite when the rapture of the church takes place. At that time, you want to be taken and not left to go into the tribulation.

C. Where Will They Be Judged?

No specific location is named, but it is said to be in the wilderness.

The Jewish people will first be separated from the Gentile nations and brought into the wilderness for judgment.

Ezek 20:34 - I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you from the lands where you are scattered.

D. Why Will They Be Judged?

This is a very important aspect to consider. This judgment will separate the rebels from those who are saved. This judgment has to take place to see who will be able to enter into the millennium.

Ezek. 20:38 - I will purge from you the rebels and those who transgress against Me; I will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, but they will not enter the land of Israel.

E. The Results of the Judgment

The results of the Judgment on Israel are clear. All who pass under the rod of God and are found to be rebels will be taken and cast into hell. All who are saved will be left to enter the millennial kingdom.

There is a twofold result of this judgment. First, the unsaved Jewish people are cut off from the land. They will not be able to enter the millennium, but rather they are cast into eternal damnation. Second, the saved Jewish people are taken into the millennium with all its’ blessings. Rom 11:26 - and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.

God is going to regather the nation of Israel at the second coming of Jesus and separate the saved from the unsaved. The unsaved Jewish people will be taken and the saved Jewish people will be left to enter the millennium.
